With ONES UPON ZEROS, FPDC continues its longstanding exploration of the intersection of dance, technology, and perception research. Central to this work are pressing questions about a shifting understanding of reality, identity, and the body in a present that is increasingly calculated, simulated, and determined by algorithms.
Four performers move between a physical stage and virtual environments. Their movements interact with digital systems in real time, creating shifting layers of physical and virtual presence.
The starting point of this work is a world that has turned its back on fixed truths. Inspired by insights from quantum mechanics as well as current approaches in cognitive research, media theory, and philosophy, ONES UPON ZEROS explores how reality emerges and what shapes it.
Dance takes center stage here and is understood as a choreographic practice of perception itself: movement creates relationships, transforms space, and makes it visible and tangible that reality is always also the result of attention and participation.
